Today was the first Saturday in several weekends that Josh and I were both free. We decided to spend the morning walking the neighborhood, had lunch with friends and spent the evening at a family party. We so enjoyed having day just to enjoy each other's company. The party we went to had a photo both and we took full advantage of all the props!

Nothing is as chic and sophisticated as the hats of the past. I love how the vintage hats pull each outfit together, but at the same time still look effortless. My favorite is probably the pillbox hat which we all know was made iconic by Jackie O. In my book, vintage hats will never go out of style.

I cannot believe this amazing weather we have been having in NC. It has been in the mid to low 70's since Sunday and it has been absolutely wonderful. One of my favorite things about late winter/early spring is watching the flowers in our yard bloom! This dress from JCrew Factory is super comfortable...Is it bad that I own it in three colors? I am still obsessed with my blush cross body and loafers and find any excuse to wear them!

The original plan for today's post was to shoot some photos outside, but it decided to rain this afternoon so we decided to shoot in our favorite room in the house instead, our formal living room. This room was probably the most difficult to decorate in our house. It is an awkward size and is attached to our dining room. For the first year that we lived here, the room was completely empty except for the area rug and the sideboard. Over time, we have collected pieces from antique stores and family friends. My favorite pieces of furniture in this room are the secretary and the french chairs we had recovered in this beautiful buffalo check fabric.
We have had some pretty amazing weather here in NC which makes it super hard not to want to get out my spring wardrobe. I first saw this blouse on my favorite blog, Classy Girls Wear Pearls. It is the perfect transition top from winter to spring. Even though it has a floral pattern, the nude, navy and yellow color scheme still makes it appropriate for the winter months.

All of the warm weather we have been having lately is making me long for a mini beach vacation. I am loving all of the patterns and prints of these vintage swimsuits. I especially like that all of the cuts are modest and figure flattering, but still look fresh and fun!
